Ikkarub's Den
Creative Works

This page is for me to share some of the stuff I create in my free time. It's something of a goal of mine to do something in as many different creative mediums as possible over the course of my life. And 'creating', for lack of a better word, is also a hobby of mine, particularly drawing.

Drawings

I don't draw nearly as often as I should or would like to, and most of the stuff I do draw doesn't get finished. Whilst a couple of pictures are missing, most, including the first, of the pictures I've drawn are here (unfortunately, the others I no longer have copies of).

Writing
One day I intend to write a story of novel-length. No idea what yet, I'm leaving that part up to inspiration, but one day... In the mean time, well, I write less than I draw. I've finished several short pieces, and several first and second chapters, but there's only one piece I've ever released (and that's pretty old now).

Websites
Most of my websites are long since gone, but over the years I've run a few myself and helped many people with content, graphics, chunks of code, layouts and whatnot.
Pokémon Depot, my biggest website project, ran from December 2001 to October 2003, but only a small part of it is preserved here. Before I stopped monitoring hits, it used to get 200 unique visitors a day, not much really, but not that bad either.

Game Mods / Hacks
One of my earliest creative projects was a video game mod (or hack as they were called in the community) of Pokémon Red/Blue called Pokémon Orange (or Orange Island Adventures by some people). This was released under the name 'Dtyler', before I'd started to use Ikkarub. Whilst nothing revolutionary, I obviously did something right as I still got compliments about the game years for years afterwards, until eventually all my old contact details expired. The success of Orange prompted me to reconsider video games as a career, an idea I originally dismissed.
Unfortunately, I no longer have a copy of this game - if anyone reading does, please, please contact me.

Games

Whilst I hope to make a career out of making video games, it's also a hobby of mine. Of course, the stuff I whip up in my free time isn't of the same degree of quality as the professional stuff, I can't mach the scope or graphics, but I can make something fun to play - and at the end of the day, that's what's important.
My current project, Furontier, is a sci-fi RPG under development over at TigriSoft. It's still quite a way from completion, but new demos are released regularly and it's shaping up very nicely.
Previously I led an attempt to make an 'unofficial sequel' to the Pokémon games called Sequentia, with the help of a small team of talented volunteers. The game reached a playable demo, but the storyline and world were never implement since hosting trouble destroyed the forum we organised everything in.
Also, whilst I can't really take credit for it, here's a quick clone of Snake I made a few years back. The answer to having a spare lunch break and no games on your laptop.
